These officials have requested 6 billion dollars for renovation projects and the Texas border coalition seeks 5 thousand additional customs and border protection officers as well as border patrol agents for both the northern and southern borders.

McAllen mayor Richard Cortez says visitations from Mexican nationals have gone down by 31 percent for various reasons

These legal visitors come here to stop and consume American products
Representative Henry Cuellar tells fox 2 news some of the ports of entry have not been worked on for 20 years, and they often get congested because there aren’t enough lanes.

One is improvement in our infrastructure to our bridges to deal with the traffic and we need more personnel

Mission mayor, Norberto Salinas, says the new Anzalduas Bridge is making it easier to transport goods across the border, but the recent break out in violence has caused fear ultimately affecting business.
