Starr and Hidalgo County have just been added to the growing list of biometric based agencies who will be able to detect whether an arrested individual is a removable criminal alien.
The new secure communities program will be administered by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a.k.a ICE. Under the program, every individual booked into the county jails has their biometrics-fingerprints-checked in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
