Authorities identified 3rd suspect in shooting

Hidalgo county authorities have identified a third suspect involved in a shooting that almost claimed the life of a San Juan resident.

The man has been identified as Jesse Ortega who is an alleged member of the Chicano gang. According to witnesses, they only know the third suspect as Danny boy. As Fox 2 News told you last night, one of the trio of suspects is already behind bars. 17-year-old Mark Anthony Arce, who faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The shooting happened Saturday night when the assailants drove in front of Jose Roberto Garcia’s home and fired off a few rounds.

Garcia was transported to a local hospital, where he continues to recuperate.
