Alzheimer’s hitting minorities the hardest

A new Alzheimer’s Association study says blacks are two times more likely to develop alzheimer’s compared to whites…

And Hispanics are about one and a half times more likely to get the disease too.

The study’s authors say Alzheimer’s is on the rise because people are living longer.

They also say high blood pressure and diabetes also increase the risk, which makes African-Americans and Hispanics more vulnerable because they have higher rates of both.

Right now, some five point three million Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s.
