There has been much improvement and headway in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer however its up to you to take preventative measures.

Fox spoke with local medical oncologist Dr. Ghanem Daghestani about the likelihood of experiencing cancer symptoms.

“A lot of the time we have patients that come and they have either advanced cancer and they don’t have any symptoms. The have x-rays they have the blood test and their blood shows some abnormality.”

Very few patients do experience some symptoms that require they get screened for cancer.

“most of the time its pain somewhere, weight loss, fever, loss of appetite, bleeding sometimes somewhere like colon cancer, cervical cancer, uterine cancer.”

On a positive note advancements in technology and medicine have improved diagnosis and treatment.

Theses advancements have proven especially helpful in treatment by way of targeted therapy which produce less negative side effects.
