June 11, 2008 | News
A native of Roma TX, Belen De Leon gets her break in the entertainment business a year before she graduates from Roma High School. She joins Grupo La Onda, a Norteno musical group that in their first musical endeavor sell more than 100,000 copies and receive a Gold Album. At the age of 17, she’s already meeting the top executives in the music industry and performing all across the United States from New York to Miami to Los Angeles and everywhere in between.
She also performed on many stages througout the Mexican Republic, and even receiving an invitation to perform in South America, Santiago de Chile where she participated in the annual Teleton and performed for approximately 60,000 people. She has also had the opportunity to perform on many Latin American television shows numerous times such as Sabado Gigante, Cristina, El Gordo y la Flaca, and Despierta America, and HBO Latino to name a few.
She is also a recipient of a three Latin Billboards and two Premio Lo Nuestros, but all good things must come to an end. Her departure from the musical group came at just the right time with the offer to host a local variety television show, an experience that would bring her to her next and current position. Belen now joins the Entravision family, where she’s already wet her feet in radio broadcasting by co-hosting on our sister station Que Pasa 99.5’s morning show.
You can catch her every weekday evening by tuning your television sets to Fox Rio 2 cable channel 6 at 9 p.m. with your weather forecast.
