The company said about 985,000 drop side cribs made between 1995 and 2005 require safety pegs that consumers may have lost during reassembly. Another 600,000 drop side cribs made during the same time have spring pegs that can become worn out after many uses.
The company is making the move after two babies died.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to find a safe, alternative sleep environment for their child until the repair kit, with new safety pegs, is safely installed. Delta is offering a free repair kit to consumers.
The cribs were sold at major retailers nationwide and the recall does not affect any cribs in stores now.
