Lately gun control is in everyone’s mind and convictions an opinions are as diverse as they are intense. In 2012 5 mass shootings throughout the country sparked anger and fear. But it wasn’t until after the horrific December tragedy in sandy hook elementary in Connecticut, where a gunman opened fire killing 20 small children and 7 adults, that the issue of gun control came to the fore front of political issues and president Obama promised to take action. Congressman Ruben Hinojosa who represents parts of the valley has been one of the most outspoken advocates of president Obama’s proposal. Yet many feel any sort of ban on weapons would be an attack on second their second amendment rights. So what are the requirements to acquire a concealed hand gun license?
