Suspects At Large In Fatal Drive-By Shooting

A drive-by shooting in Lopezville last night has already claimed one life and authorities have some obstacles finding those responsible. Hidalgo County officials say that at around 11 p.m., two individuals were sitting outside a home located on the 800-block of church street–  just north of San Juan when they were shot by a passing vehicle. One of the victims passed away at a nearby hospital we spoke with a neighbor and a local business about the safety of the area. Authorities say that due to the high winds last night, the  sheriff’s surveillance tower camera was blown skyward and wasn’t able to record the incident… they add that they are not ruling out that it may be gang-related. The suspects are still at large anyone with information is asked to call crime stoppers at 956-668-tips.
