Latest storm preps from City Of McAllen Public Works

Streets and Drainage staff is out in field making sure there are no obstructions in the drainage canals.
Storm water lift stations (2nd & Harvey and Balboa Pump) are currently being operated to reduce the standing water in the system; thus increasing the storage capacity in the storm water pipes.
No sandbags will be distributed at this time. This “might” change if the forecast changes after 3:00 PM this afternoon.
There will be garbage collection tomorrow BUT we ask the public to secure their black and blue bins during the night and don’t place them out for collections until after 7:00 AM Wednesday.
