Mission Accident Victims Identities Released

Three people are dead and one is hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident this morning north of Mission.

DPS troopers are investigating the accident on Moorefield Road and mile 7 which happened shortly before noon.

Officials say 2 women and a baby aboard a grey vehicle traveled north on moorefield road and tried to pass a vehicle when she crashed against a pickup truck traveling south on the same road.

A 22-year-old woman died at the scene and her 11-month-old baby died on his way to the hospital.

The driver of the pickup who was around 62-years-old also passed away.

Authorities say its very important to follow traffic laws to avoid these type of tragedies.

The names of those victims have just been released.

The mother was identified as 22-year-old Mission resident, Dulce Barajas, her child, 11-month-old Pablo Barajas.

The driver of the other vehicle was 62-year-old Jesus Saenz, from the city of Alton.

Investigators add that recent details show Barajas was texting and driving, when she collided with Saenz.
