The Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Business Services and Tourism of the State of Tamaulipas, also known as FECANACO has demanded that the U.S. State Department and CBP implement a special operative to accelerate the rate that vehicles and pedestrians cross the U.S. Border from Tamaulipas.

Tamaulipas’ authorities explained that they see a crossing of an average of 2 million 250 thousand vehicles per month, that’s 75,000 vehicles per day; 900,000 pedestrians also cross on a monthly basis averaged nearly 30,000 daily.

These figures are likely to increase between 70% and 100% in the month of December and this is also double crossing times.

Furthermore, the group has asked the new Mexican government to remove military personnel from the international bridges.

They argue that this has been devastating to commerce.
