Americans are plagued with high rates of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular problems.
But most of these obesity-related diseases are preventable.
Tobacco holds the spot for being the number one preventable killer in the u-s with obesity not falling far behind.
Vermont was found to be the healthiest state and southern states Mississippi and Louisiana were the unhealthiest.
Texas residents with a body mass index greater than 30, which is considered obese, make up 31% of the state.
Findings are from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Census Bureau and the FBI.

American’s *what* is living longer? I always assume these writers are journalism grads. I am often wrong, it seems.
The medical industrial complex has won. This is what a for-profit health care system produces, since all financial incentives encourage this very scenario. Live longer on drugs and in the hospital. There is no money in the cure.
I thought colorado was healthiest state that a we actually lived onger like than that and although the headline says we are living longer but not happier that part is not even discussed. Try checking some fact and letting us know.
