STEM Jobs Act to give 55k Permanent Residency Visas

STEM stands for “Science, Technology, Engineering and Math”. It’s a measure that would provide permanent residency visas to foreign graduates of U.S. Colleges with advanced degrees in those fields.
Democrats criticize the bill because it essentially kills the diversity visa program, which helps less-trained immigrants gain legal entry into the US.
The STEM Jobs Act will provide 55,000 permanent residency visas. The democratically-controlled senate is not expected to take up the STEM Jobs Act.
