Power Outages Plague Valley

A series of outages affected over 18,000 homes in the Rio Grande Valley.

The cause of the power outages remains unclear. As of now, most, but not all homes have been restored. Earlier today, several schools in McAllen postponed classes until power was restored.

One of the communities most affected is La Grulla, where according to the AEP website, as of 8pm, 50% of homes remain without power.
