Identities Released of Guatemalan Immigrants Killed in La Joya Pursuit

This as the consulate is demanding answers.
The McAllen Guatemalan Consulate released the identities of the two illegal immigrants killed. The victims were Marco Antonio Castro and José Leonardo Coj.
The consulate added that they didn’t know when the bodies would be returned to their families.
Maria Maura Coj, Victim’s Wife, said “He made the decision to travel to the United States, because his oldest son injured his hand while working, and he needed money for medical attention. He was very desperate for work.”
The incident happened on Thursday, a state trooper fired from a DPS helicopter in an attempt to stop the fleeing smuggler’s truck, suspected of carrying drugs. Of the 10 captured, nine were undocumented immigrants from Guatemala.
The Consulate in McAllen has condemned the shooting, and has formally demanded an investigation.
