Cyclist Killed in Semi-Truck Accident in Alton

Authorities say a man riding his bicycle was hit by a semi-trailer at around 1:30 a.m. on FM-681 and Los Ebanos Road, and died at the scene.
Investigators say the cyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet, and didn’t have reflectors on his bike. They also believe he may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.
Hernandez went on to add that the driver fully cooperated, and rendered aid to the cyclist and is not currently facing any charges.
The identity of the victim is being withheld until next-of-kin are notified.
