Authorities try to Identify Female Body Found at SPI

Cameron County officials have released a composite sketch of the woman, whose body was found at South Padre Island earlier this month.

Authorities are investigating this as a homicide. They say the woman is at least 18 years old. Preliminary autopsy reports don’t show any signs of trauma.

The woman was found buried 3-feet in the sand, near beach access 6 on October 10th. She was discovered after coyotes were seen pulling on her body.

Investigators don’t believe the woman is a Mexican National, but may be of Hispanic descent. Anyone with information is asked to call authorities at 956-554-6700.
