The City of Hidalgo has a new chief to “protect and serve”, a swearing-in ceremony was held in his honor this afternoon.
Mayor Martin Cepeda, along with other city officials, welcomed Rodolfo Espinoza as the new Hidalgo Police Chief. Prior to this position, Espinoza worked in narcotics for the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department.
After taking his ceremonious oath, Espinoza pledged to strengthen community ties, and to protect the border city from crime that filters from Mexico.
Espinoza is filling the shoes of longtime Police Chief Vernon Rosser, who stepped down in June after 18 years.
