An Iranian-American man from Corpus Christi pleaded guilty for his role in a plot to kill the Saudi Ambassador to the United States.
Prosecutors say Mansour Arbabsiar tried to hire a Mexican Cartel for $1.5-million dollars, to bomb a restaurant in Washington D.C., where the ambassador would be eating. His cartel contact turned out to be an undercover agent.
Arbabsiar told the court he planned the assassination attempt with members of the Iranian Military. He is expected to be sentenced in January, where he faces up to 25 years in prison.
The Iranian Government has denied any involvement in the plan.
