Authorities have released the frantic 911 calls made the night of the kidnapping.
To this day, police have yet to reveal the victim’s identity to protect the integrity of the investigation, but they have revealed to FOX 2 News she’s a UTPA Graduate Student from the City of McAllen. Last night, UTPA Police, along with the FBI, arrested Miguel Angel Navarro.
Assistant Police Chief James Loya says other suspects have already been identified and will be arrested in the next few days. Loya adds there are a total of three and possibly even more subjects responsible for the kidnapping.
Based on the investigation, police believe the men kidnapped the victim for money. However, there is no evidence that shows a transaction was ever made. It is still unclear whether, the victim knew her aggressors. All of the suspects are from the Rio Grande Valley, the man already in custody denies having any ties with organized crime.
UTPA Police tell us more arrests are expected in the next few days. We will be on top of this story for any further developments.
