The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office has received threats for years but only recently have they been against the life of Sheriff Trevino.

Sheriff Trevino says Carlos Robert Medina, 41 years old, allegedly made a threat a couple weeks ago. An alleged member of a dangerous local gang called PRM (Partido Revolucionario Mexicano), whose members are believed to be illegal aliens from Mexico and Honduras that have connections to organized crime. Medina has a lengthy criminal record with charges like capital murder, aggravated kidnapping to burglaries.

Sheriff Trevino says he made a threat after they approached him about a domestic disturbance and may have fled to Mexico.

The Sheriff also says the other suspect is Gustavo Cruz Lozano, considered to be just as dangerous even though he works alone. According to reports, Lozano’s behavior matches that of men who assassinate public officials in Mexico.

“He called in and said he’s a detective from Mexico. He said we shouldn’t have started an investigation that we didn’t even know what he was talking about. He said he would have me kidnapped,” said Sheriff Trevino, “We take these threats serious. This is the third time he’s made a threat.”

Sheriff Trevino says this cannot be tolerated and will do everything possible to put a stop to this.

The sheriff’s department needs your help in finding these suspects.
