Police Identify Fatal Shooting Victim

In Brownsville police have released the name of a man killed in a shooting yesterday and the suspects are still at large.

Authorities say as 28-year-old Ezequiel Perez was shot in the chest at around 1 a.m., at an apartment complex located near the 2300 block of Shildler Avenue. Perez was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses reported seeing three men getting into a verbal confrontation with Perez, and were seen fleeing the scene following the gunshots.

Investigators are still searching for the suspects, as well as the murder weapon. Brownsville P.D. says this is the third homicide from a firearm this year.
