In Mexico the arrest of a top Zeta leader has ties to the 2010 shooting death of a U.S. Citizen.
The Mexican Navy presented Salvador Alfonso “Ardilla” Martinez-Escobedo this morning in Mexico City. He appeared unremorseful, at one point giving a thumbs up to journalists.
Martinez-Escobedo is believed to be the mastermind behind notorious crimes in recent years, including the recent escape of over 130 prisoners in Piedras Negras. As well as the killing of David Hartley in September 2010 on Falcon Lake. He is also accused of the beheading of a lead Tamaulipas police officer, investigating the murder of Hartley, among several other heinous crimes.
