More than 3,000 pounds of marijuana were seized in the city of Pharr yesterday morning.
Pharr police along with Border Patrol agents obtained permission to search a home located in the 900 block of S. Diplomat Street where they found the drugs. A male and a female, both Mexican nationals, were arrested and an 11-old-month baby was taken into custody by Child Protective Services (CPS). Pharr Police Chief Ruben Villegas says these stash houses are a breeding ground for criminality.
Pharr police urge the community to report any suspicious activity to their crime stoppers hot line.
