9 Sent to Hospital in 7-Vehicle Edinburg Crash

Authorities say a driver traveled the wrong way on the highway, causing a 7-vehicle pile-up.
It happened on Highway 281, near the Freddy Gonzalez exit at around 6 p.m.. FOX 2 cameras were at the scene and spoke with authorities. Four kids were injured and taken to Edinburg Children’s Hospital. Five adults were transported to McAllen Medical Center.
The alleged wrong-way driver was arrested.. Investigators say he was driving while intoxicated. The conditions of the passengers injured hasn’t been released. We’ll stay on top of it and keep you updated.
