The Presidential Elections are six weeks away, and the deadline to register to vote is fast approaching.
Today volunteers and organizations from all over the country hit the streets for National Voter Registration Day. And the Rio Grande Valley was no exception.
In 2008, 6-million Americans didn’t vote because they missed a registration deadline. “Equal Voice for America’s Families” looked prevent that from happening this election, by knocking on doors trying to increase the number of voters.
In Texas 6 out of 10 people voted, meanwhile in the valley only 2 out of 10 cast their ballot. The last day to register is October the 9th. Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th.
