Mexican officials confirmed 30 people have died from the explosion at the Pemex pipeline distribution center in Tamaulipas, and dozens remain injured.
There are also a reported seven others unaccounted for. The family of one of the missing worker, 23-year-old Bruno Ulyses Avedaño-Rojas, spoke with FOX 2. They declined to be identified on camera.
In a written statement, Pemex officials said an accidental leak at the natural gas plan caused the fire, and there were no signs of sabotage. The Associated Press says Tuesday’s explosion was the largest single death toll in at least a decade for the company.
