Preliminary hearings continued today in the tragic Palmview immigrant accident case.

It was scheduled to be a detention hearing involving the young teenager accused of murder of 9 immigrants in Palmview accident this past April, but it felt more like the opening days of a murder trial.

The young man’s defense team opening with comments involving the vehicle itself and how more forensic vehicle tests needed to be done. Then, the defense called an eyewitness to the stand who brought some unexpected testimony.

This man, a member of the crime stoppers committee in Palmview stated that he was traveling behind the border patrol vehicles following the van.

Following the eyewitness testimony, another twist as the two Border Patrol Agents, who were slated to testify, were told by the District Attorney’s Office that the trial was over and that they could leave.

It brought to a close yet another preliminary hearing in this case that leaves more questions than answers.

The two Border Patrol agents that were slated to testify will be back in court orrow to do so and you can sure we’ll keep you up to speed on that.
