Nolan was diagnosed with a condition known as “Pre Leukemia”, the UTPA Baseball Team Coach Manny Mantrana, heard of Nolan while he was helping a little girl that had a similar disease.
Pre Leukemia patients often develop severe anemia and require frequent blood transfusions. In most cases, the disease worsens and the patient develops low blood counts due to progressive bone marrow failure.
Tomorrow an event will be held to help find a match for Nolan, a match that will save his life.
The Bone Marrow Match will take place orrow, September 12th at the UTPA Library from 10 am – 2 pm.
Just like Nolan, there are thousands of people that do not match to any of the possible donors in the national registry. You can register at the UTPA Library and possibly save a life.
