UTPA STEM Program Receives $3.1m Grant

At this morning’s event, University of Texas Pan-American officials say that there is a severe underrepresentation of Hispanic women in those fields, and that the $3.1-million grant will contribute to having role models for future generations.
Cristina Villalobos is one of two females with a Hispanic background, out of the 35 people that works in the UTPA Mathematics Department.
