UTB Unveils Ocelot as New Mascot

UTB unveiled the “ocelot” this afternoon, beating out a variety of mascots, including the jaguarondi, bull shark, vaquero, and even a parrot. There were nearly 400 suggestions from students, faculty and staff, as well as an online vote.
The university president decided to retire the scorpion as a mascot, following the termination of its partnership with Texas Southmost College.
