Allstate Insurance ranked the city as the “Safest for Driving in Texas”. And it ranked 25th nationwide. Brownsville wasn’t the only Rio Grande spot on the list. McAllen listed at 34th on its national list.
The “America’s Best Drivers Report” is in its eighth year, and ranks cities in terms of auto collision frequency. The average Brownsville driver gets into a car accident in about once every 11.4 years. And 11.1 years in McAllen.
