Dr. Ameer Hassan, Neurologist at VBMC, said an aneurysm is the ballooning blood vessels in the brain.
It is unclear as to what causes aneurysms, but there are signs to look for.
Symps for brain aneurysms include severe headache, nausea, blurry vision, seizures and loss of consciousness.
Massive bleeding from ruptured blood cells can lead to stroke or worse, even death.
And the risks are greater for adults, especially women. Other risk factors include Smoking, heavy alcohol consumption, high blood pressure and head injury.
Valley Baptist Medical Center no longer conducts the traditional surgery that cuts into your head. instead they offers another option to treat aneurysms.
Doctor Hassan explained Valley Baptist performs the procedure by inserting a catheter through the groin.
Remember, a ruptured aneurysm is an immediate medical emergency. Consult with your healthcare provider for more information.
