Peñitas Kidnapping

The suspects usually show up in a similar manner, masked and armed, today at JR Tire Shop on Mile 3 and Tom Gill North of Peñitas. Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department was called out shortly after 3:30 this afternoon regarding a kidnapping.
The owner’s family member was taken by force.
Sheriff’s Department Commander John Montemayor said the men were driving a vehicle that was described as a light blue Explorer with damage on the front passenger’s side. They were all masked and armed. The Hidalgo County Mobile and K9 Units were on the scene.
In a similar event, two weeks ago a man was taken from a restaurant on Los Ebanos and FM 1925 by armed men. He was released 12 hours later.
Commander Montemayor also said that for the victims safety the identity of the kidnapped man will not be revealed at this time.
