Hidalgo County Mother Charged in Child’s Murder

Maria Almaguer, 34-years-old, is accused of kicking 2-year-old Isaias Ismael Alvarez, causing his death. She plead not guilty to the charges. Her sister told FOX 2 that she is innocent.
According to prosecutors, Isaias lost weight and got sick during his mother’s care, and that he had been hospitalized on four different occasions, including skull fractures. Autopsy results revealed the child died from blood enforced trauma to his abdomen.
