Last week we told you how authorities have made several arrests in connection to a kidnapping and murder case in Brownsville. Various law enforcement agencies across the Rio Grande Valley have continued working together and the list of suspects keeps growing.

J.J. Treviño, Brownsville Police Spokesperson, said last night one more suspect was arrested with the combined help of Hidalgo County Sheriff’s, ICE Agents, US Marshals and Brownsville Police.

Serafin Lazaro Lugo was arrested on a warrant for participating in the killing of Brownsville restaurant owner Reyes Bocanegra in July.

And the investigation continues.

Officer Treviño says they are still searching for one more person named Orlando Martinez Perez.

Perez is the ninth suspect in this case.

Once arrested, investigators still need to determine if it will be the final arrest or not.
