Update on North Mercedes Shooting

Foxrio2.com is not responsible for any misunderstanding.In Hidalgo County, sheriff deputies have released more information about the shooting between two brothers in the Indian Hills Community North of Mercedes. The incident was between half-brothers 18-year-old Jesus Rico and 22-year-old Enrique Quintanilla.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño said Enrique confessed to shooting his half-brother after a long dispute.
Enrique Quintanilla has been charged with aggravated assault and a bond of $150,000. His younger brother Jesus was transported to a hospital with two bullet wounds in his left hip. Officials believe he will recover, however, his current condition is unknown.
“Through this investigation, we have found he is linked to six armed robberies,” said Sheriff Lupe Treviño, Hidalgo County.
Enrique’s weapon has not been recovered. Authorities also anticipate several arrests in the robberies mentioned.
