This, after authorities called off search and rescue efforts on Tuesday. FOX Reporter Cynthia Cano was at this afternoon’s press conference.
Andres Frias’ Family refuses to give up the search for his body and today they had a special message for authorities.
It’s been a week that 18-year-old Andres Frias disappeared in this canal in south McAllen. His family now wants authorities to close the canals flood gates to stop the water flow and allow the body to float to the surface. And although the family hasn’t been able to speak with the canal’s authorities directly, they have an idea why this might not be possible.
The family has been contacted by a professional rescue team out of Dallas who has offered to join the search and rescue efforts, but that has to be cleared first with the City of McAllen.
They also say they will not leave the canal area until they can take Andres’ body with them.
