Victim of San Carlos Fatal Shooting Identified

The identity of the victim in a fatal shooting north of San Carlos has been released.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s say 30-year-old Elias Valdez Taylor is a Mexican National. He died from two gunshot wounds on Monday, while inside a trailer home on the 1500 block of Mile 19 North.

The homeowner and her ex-husband were detained for questioning. It is unclear what their relationship is to Taylor. Investigators have not released a motive.
