Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Mercedes, TX

DPS officials are still searching for a man tonight who’s female passenger is dead after a motorcycle wreck.

Members of the Elsa Fire Department handled traffic as Texas Department of Public Safety Officials surveyed the scene late last night on a desolate stretch of road, just before Mile 14 on 2 West in Mercedes.

The woman identified as Melissa Ann Guerra, 44-year-old Edcouch Resident.

She was left dead at the scene, her driver, an unidentified male, fled into the night.

Eventually he was picked up by a Chevy pickup truck older model , short bed, with Georgia tags.

The man remains at large tonight and his passenger, who was not wearing a helmet, dead at 44.
