2 Gang Members Receive Charges for Mission Vehicle Break-in

An update on exclusive breaking news we brought you last night, about a federal agent robbed by gang members. Those two suspects faced a judge in Mission this afternoon. FOX 2 Reporter Laura Cavazos was at the arraignment.

Today two gang members received several charges for allegedly being involved in a purse stealing spree. Esequiel Mireles y Marcos Garcia received charges at the Mission Municipal Court. They are accused of stealing a purse that belonged to a federal agent that was off duty. She had her personal weapon inside when the perpetrators broke the window and took her belongings this occurred yesterday at a gasoline station.

Mireles received a $300,000 bond for two charges of burglary of a vehicle, and one charge of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Garcia received a $200,000 bond for participating in the crime. The Mission Police Department recuperated 10 purses in total.

Authorities revealed that the investigation lasted 11 hours, the suspects abandoned the first vehicle on Owassa and Tower and tried to fool the officials by taking off in a second vehicle. But it was no match for Weslaco, Mission and the Hidalgo County Officials. They were able to detain them in Weslaco last night on FM 1015 and 8 Mile Line.

Police recommend residents not to leave any purses or valuable belongings in plain sight, because you may become another victim.
