The Rio Grande Valley could soon see a new Spanish-language early-weather warning system.
County leaders are banding together to make sure that the system comes to fruition.
It would assist cities, counties, the national weather system, as well as the state in providing early-warning radio messages having to do with severe weather and hurricanes.
Senator Eddie Lucio says that a system of this kind is very important especially to an area with a very large Hispanic population.
If the system comes through, it would be the fourth system in place in the entire country.
