Brownsville Man Faces Various Charges After Chase

It didn’t stop there. authorities say the driver jumped out of the vehicle while it was in motion, and broke the police unit’s window on his way to jail.
Brownsville PD say 27-year-old Julio Faustino Gonzalez was initially stopped for speeding on the 2400 block of Southmost Road, when the pursuit began. Gonzalez, along with a passenger, jumped out of the vehicle while it was in motion.
The vehicle crashed into parked vehicles and a home on East 17th Street. A woman sleeping inside the residence received minor injuries. While Gonzalez was being transported to city jail, police say he broke the window to the unit, where he was re-restrained. Gonzalez is currently behind bars. The passenger was cited for public intoxication.
