Non-Partisan Candidate Forum
This article was published 1 year 5 days ago which may make its actuality or accuracy no longer valid. Foxrio2.com is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Local activists held an educational forum in the City of Pharr this morning in line with early voting. Only this time it was not the politicians on stage.
The organizations ARISE and the RGV Equal Voice Network united to offer political candidates an opportunity to hear the community express their main concerns.
This non-partisan event invited candidates running for congressional and state seats.
Among the issues, community members said immigration is the most important.
“Immigration because the students graduate and don’t get jobs,” said a Las Milpas Resident, “They need their citizenship.”
Activists and politicians alike agree on the message that in order to see change in your community, one must vote.
For more information on voting, contact your county’s elections department.
Hidalgo County Elections Department 956 – 318 – 2570
