Fatal Rollover Accident in La Joya

The driver of a Ford Aerostar carrying nearly 20 people was speeding and lost control of the vehicle, flipping over.
One man inside the van was declared dead at the scene. Nearly a dozen people were aided by paramedics; at least one in critical condition, air-lifted to a hospital.
Authorities have yet to confirm the identities or nationalities of the passengers.
Authorities say the driver fled the scene on foot before getting into a Chevy Malibu and is still at large. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and jeans.
Authorities say the passengers have been taken to local hospitals for treatment and evaluation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
