North Carolina resident dies after vehicle accident in Rio Grande City

The victim was identified as 20 year old Luis Angel Alaniz from North Carolina. Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver was traveling south bound on Alvarez road just North of US 83 in a Nissan Altima. He was passing another vehicle when it lost control and crashed against a brick wall. DPS troopers are still investigating the incident.
