30 yr. Old Suspect Could Face Capital Murder Charges

Jury selection began today in the trial against the second suspect accused of killing a 76-year-old army veteran. 30-year-old Hazael “Ozzie” Gonzalez is standing trial facing capital murder charges for his alleged participation in the killing of Miguel Cahue. The victim’s lifeless body was found beaten to death on august 8, 2008 in his McAllen home located near McColl road and La Vista Avenue. According to police reports, Gonzalez and two other adult males and 4 juveniles all took part in this gruesome murder. The suspects ransacked the home and dragged the victim’s body from the living room to the bedroom where he was later found by his son in law after he’d gone missing for several days. According to investigators, the seven suspects allegedly took Cahue’s digital camera, DVD player and a personal laptop. Judge bobby Flores of the 139th district court is assigned to the capital murder case against Hazael Gonzalez. The initial arguments are set to begin tomorrow morning.
