And as Lindsay just mentioned the 21st homicide for Hidalgo County comes in way of the discovery of a severely de-composed body just north of Elsa.
At approximately 2:35 Sunday afternoon deputies were called to assist in the recovery of a body found in an irrigation canal just north of mile 19 on fm 88.
Authorities indicated that the cadaver had been weighed down with a cinder block, however it is still unclear how long the body had been in the water.
Preliminary investigations have not yet determined the gender or identity of the victim.
Autopsy results are still pending.
